Turning Passion into Profession
Updated: May 19, 2020
The past couple of years has been crazy! When I first started this blog all I wanted to achieve was providing information to help others in either finding somewhere they could enjoy good beer on their travels or help to give recommendations for newbies in the world of beer. Sharing the love for good beer and giving my mates ears a rest from me badgering them into trying stuff was my number one goal. I could have never envisioned that writing this blog would result in being invited to so many great breweries, take part in many events, give me a platform to try lots and lots of different beers and to make amazing new friends all over the country. My blog has taken me from Chelmsford to Czech Republic, Bristol to Belgium and now helped me go from passionate hobby to profession.
Although I have had so much fun writing for my blog and being involved with different events and press trips, writing is never something I wanted to do as a full-time job. I have so much for respect for those who have taken the leap and dived into freelance writing to pay their bills, however that life style is not for me. I love the beer industry, seeing it from the perspective I have over the past few years has made me hungry to be more involved within in it. The past month has flown by and the opportunity to make that career change popped up, which leads me to this announcement…
I am over the moon and really excited to say that I am making the move into working within the beer industry and will be London Accounts Manager for West Berkshire & Renegade Brewery.
It is an incredibly exciting time for West Berkshire brewery, a brand new shiny brewery, equipped with state of the art bottling and canning machines, along with lots of plans that I look forward to sharing with you all along the way. I can’t wait to get going at the start of August and I couldn’t ask for a better beer guru to guide me in the ways of working within the industry.
Fear not though, this isn’t me retiring the blog or leaving the committee at the Leyton Orient Supporters Club, these are hugely important factors that has got me where I am now and I will be continuing to do both. There will be a celebrational West Berkshire & Renegade tap takeover at LOSC soon for everyone to come raise a glass with me as I take the next step in my beer story.
So… Who wants to buy some beer then??
