Anchored in Worthing micropub, Worthing Sussex

From the outside all you can see is steamed up windows with dried hops pressed up against the top of the window! Sitting above the micropub is a huge multi colour sign which wouldn’t look out of place on a hippys tie dye vest! The words read “Ancored in Worthing micropub… local real ales and cider” … I’ve been in some small pubs before but not sure if they’ve ever labeled themselves as a micropub but Anchored in Worthing certainly deserves that title!!!

It is tiny! Have you ever imagined what your front living room would look like if you turned it into a pub? Well now you have your answer! First opening in 2013 Anchored in Worthing already has a great reputation and also 5 stars on TripAdvisor. The small room has high thin tables (with coat hooks) running down each side with a high bench and seats around them, a narrow walk way takes you to the end of the micropub where there are bookshelves full of beer books and bottle displays. Outback they have their beers, restricted by space but not restricted by quality. Always a selection of quality local beers, ciders and wines, the Anchored in Worthing is punching well above its weight! It has a cosy atmosphere that pubs three times its size fail to create.

The people who run it are very friendly, knowledgeable about local product and proud of their micropub, you can tell. There’s table service, so sit back and enjoy the small surroundings as your beer is brought to you.

Beer pump clips decorate the walls and also a couple of maps, one showing the locations of all the local breweries and beers that they have previously had on.

Beware of some Google maps as it took a bit of finding, you can find the micropub down one of the side roads connecting part of the shopping streets to the sea front.

Anchored in Worthing is proof that size doesn’t matter… It’s what you do with it that counts!
